Experience some enjoyable quality time with your child at the Saturday Art Trolley!
Sessions run from 11am – 1pm every Saturday during advertised exhibitions and are suitable for children aged 4-12.
You will be greeted and supervised by our friendly education staff, who dream up fresh and original activities for each of our temporary exhibitions. This provides children (and accompanying adults!) with creative and enjoyable ways of exploring the gallery’s displays.
Typical activities:
There is no pre-booking required for the Art Trolley, and you don’t have to stay for 2 hours – just as long as you wish between 11am and 1pm.
The only rule is that children must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent, grandparent or family friend.

- Quizzes or trails to help you to take a closer look at the exhibition
- Drawing and sketching using a range of artists pencils and other materials
- Creating a 3-D sculpture or 2-D collage inspired by an exhibit
- Wordsearches
- Jigsaws
